Bethesda has announced a worldwide launch for The Elder Scrolls: Castles on 10 September. Pre-registration is open on the App Store and Google Play, and the game will be free to play.
A successor to Fallout Shelter
Castles takes the Fallout Shelter formula into the Elder Scrolls universe. You found a dynasty, build a castle and rule your own kingdom. One real day equals one year in the game, so generations pass quickly.
Keeping order and your subjects happy is essential: neglect them and they may overthrow the ruler.
A year of testing
The game first launched in a handful of regions and was officially unveiled months later; the first players tried it in September 2023. A year on, Bethesda considers that phase complete.
What's next
The studio plans to expand the game over time with new bosses, events, quests, legendary subjects and other features.
